Abstract

In a globalized age, culture is increasingly regarded as an important concept for knowledge mastery and competence development in the fields of language education, cultural studies and intercultural communication, among others (Byram, 1989; Seelye, 1993; Martin & Nakayama, 2007). In recent years, an increasing number of educational activities are being offered for teaching and learning culture and in particular about foreign cultures within formal curricula.
