Abstract

We present a rendering scheme that produces motion effects to emphasize the dynamism of game characters. The first step is to extract the contour of the character and to construct a contour graph that connects the contours of the body parts of the character in various pose and camera position. Then, we select the contours of the body parts whose motion is in greatest magnitude and produce motion effects such as speedlines, half stroboscopic lines and full stroboscopic lines on the selected contours. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media.
