Abstract

(from the chapter) Discusses the concept of self and certain features of the commitment process that may be related to the threat to self in jealousy situations. Specific issues addressed include: narratives and the constructivist perspective on the self, core identity and incorporation of the other, commitment and jealousy, recent jealousy research relevant to identity and narrative, pathological jealousy, love styles, and jealousy and problems of commitment.
