Anesthetic Management of Heart Transplantation

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to present a practical approach to the perioperative management of heart transplantation patients from the perspective of the cardiac anesthesiologist. In that context, the anesthesiologist plays an important role at many levels, from the pre-operative evaluation and preparation of patients to the post-operative management in the intensive care unit.
