Abstract

Anti-shark type I collagen antibody (PAb-S) was successfully separated from anti-pig type I collagen antiserum. PAb-S recognized a chymotryptic peptide (29kDa) of α1(I) chain prepared from shark skin. This result suggested that the epitope contained in this chymotryptic peptide may be well conserved during the molecular evolution of type I collagen. © 1996, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
