Abstract

A general overview of the recent advances of the combination of ionic liquids and polymers to create innovative polymer electrolytes and their applications in energy production and storage is presented. These materials have advantages over the conventional polymer electrolytes in terms of ionic conductivity and thermal, chemical, and electrochemical stability, and they will turn over a new leaf for the new-generation energy production and storage devices.
