This paper describes a high-level reconstruction method of the hydrographie “linear” network graph, represented in a french geographic map, with dashed lines and interrupted solid lines. The process takes into account drawing rules used by cartographers and properties of the natural network graph, in order to provide a geometrically and topologically correct graph. Working with a graph, obtained by vectorization, we have a good matching between the data and the natural graph concept and so, we apply directly the rules defined on the real network for reconstructing the cartographic network.
