Abstract

This chapter provides a perspective on the influences occurring in Australian society which is portrayed as a complex multi-cultural and multi-dimensional one. It identifies and explains some of the factors introduced by the corporate sector in the prevailing climate of economic rationalism, corporate dominance and marketdriven economy. It also introduces a distinction between 'internationalization' and 'globalization' not often appreciated in Australian businesses and in the education sector in particular.
