Abstract

Over the past 20 years, optical transmission systems have evolved from fairly simple, single span, point-to-point configurations, operated at a single wavelength, to rather complex multiwavelength, multispan, point-to-multipoint architectures. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
