Abstract

In embroidery, WIP (work in progress) means an unfinished project that you take from time to time expecting to complete it. WIP is a series of vignettes depicting embroidery pieces I have made, along with reflections about life in Canada, what it means to be Canadian for immigrants, and the mourning that comes after leaving one’s home country. These vignettes are WIPs of life that get revisited and to which I add layers of stitches as I reflect about who I am, and whom I find myself continuously becoming.
