Abstract

The authors have developed a novel microfluidic device of multiple reactor array that enables quant. multistep reactions with droplet coalescence. This device consists of three-dimensional microchannel networks fabricated with PDMS, in which nanoliter-sized droplets can be accurately metered and mixed using hydrophobic passive valves and pneumatic pressure. Using this device, single reagent injection is enough to prep. multiple aliquots with precise vol. for multiple different reactions or different analyses reducing the influence of evapn. This type of microarray is applicable for multiple analyses such as clin. blood tests, drug screening or gene discovery. [on SciFinder(R)]
