Australian Government started the campaign “Clean up the World cleaner” in 1993 and it was launched by the United Nations Environment Program on a global scale in the third week of each September. The campaign has become an important international event in environment annually and attracted the participation of millions of people in more than 130 countries. This was an opportunity to bring together businesses, community groups, schools, individuals and countries around the world to participate in environmental improvement and protection, waste collection, treatment and recycling, propaganda for the community. Vietnam has participated in the campaign since 1994. This campaign aims to highlight the role of each Vietnamese citizen in community activities to raise their awareness on the community’s responsibility for the environment, contributing to global environmental efforts. Since 2010 in response to World Health Day with the theme “Urbanization and Health” events have been held worldwide to increase awareness about the main theme – 1,000 cities, 1,000 beings, as a global campaign in some populated areas such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang cities of Vietnam. This research aims to answer the questions: (1) Why we need to do a cleaner world in Vietnam? (2) What we need to do when taking action for a green, sustainable urban environment? (3) How to clarify the solutions for “Sustainable, Healthy, and Environment-friendly Urban Transport”.
