Abstract

Lecithin/cyclohexane solutions have been investigated by density and pulse gradient spin-echo nuclear magnetic resonance self-diffusion measurements. The dependence of the lecithin self-diffusion coefficient and the apparent molar volume on the phospholipid concentration has been studied. Premicellar aggregation, with formation of small aggregates, has been suggested. The size of the micelles formed and the partial molar volume of lecithin within these micelles have been evaluated. © Springer-Verlag 1999.
