In an early contribution, Nigel South (1998) poses some of the following questions: Why do we feel the need for a green criminology? On which already extant works could it be built and what are the theoretical questions that can be asked? More than 15 years later, these questions still prove useful and effective in approaching the multiple contributions of green criminology that have emerged in the meantime. In fact, dealing with environmental crimes continues to imply a necessary confrontation with some extremely complex issues.
