Abstract

(from the chapter) examine linguistic characteristics in higher-functioning autistic individuals (IQ of 70 or more, with reasonably adequate language function) / compare these characteristics with language behaviors seen in related disorders [i.e., schizophrenia, schizotypal personality disorder and pervasive developmental disorder] with onset in childhood and adolescence / consider their possible significance in the continuing controversy concerning the relationship of autism to these other disorders (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
