Abstract

By 1993, 8 years after the Jacksonville Community Council Inc. (JCCI) had begun its community quality-of-life (QOL) indicators project, the project staff was regularly receiving requests for information and guidance from those seeking to develop similar projects in other communities. Jacksonville’s pioneering efforts were rapidly becoming recognized and respected around the United States and the world as an exemplary model for others to follow.
