Abstract

This paper introduces a multi-agent solution for remote monitoring based on wireless network of sensors that are used to collect and process medical data describing the current patient state. A multi-agent architecture is provided for a sensor network of medical devices, which is able to adaptively react to various events in real time. To implement this solution it is proposed to partially process the data by autonomous medical devices without transmitting it to the server and adapt the sampling intervals on the basis of the non-equidistant time series analysis. The solution is illustrated by simulation results and clinical deployment. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.
