Abstract

Postgraduate education in America has been keeping a great strength and effect. Under its advanced teaching and research models, a lot of outstanding scientific manpowers have been cultivated. The cultivation model for academic capacity in the postgraduate education influences the quality of postgraduate in the direct way. Comparing with Chinese model, this paper analyses the features of cultivation model for American postgraduates from the aspects of interdisciplinary penetration, creative research capacity, academic code of conduct, academic criterion and academic autonomy. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
