This volume contains research from economic psychology. The psychological view of the study of economic behaviour is distinct from the other views, notably that of economics, with regard to the basic kinds of research questions that are investigated, with regard to basic theoretical assumptions, and with regard to the research methods used. The research questions investigated are always concerned with individual behaviour. . . . Economic behaviour is thus always viewed from the standpoint of individual actors. Macroeconomic phenomena are analysed, of course, but only to the extent that they influence individual behaviour, or that individual behaviour impacts macroeconomic phenomena. The research methods used are mainly geared towards empirical research, and there mostly towards survey research and experimentation.
