Abstract

The Just Noticeable Distortion (JND) model is used to determine the optimum strength for watermark embedding and contribute to provide an imperceptible and robust watermarking scheme. This paper introduces the current JND models in digital watermarking, and simulates the watermarking schemes based on JND model in DCT and DWT domain, the experiment results show that the watermarking schemes based on JND model in DWT domain has better performance than in DCT domain. Meanwhile, we propose a possible research direction of watermarking technique that can better balance the contradiction between robustness and perceptibility. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
