Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is a rapidly emerging technology used to visualize virtual data superimposed on the real world. It improves the way humans visualize data. Measurement devices form the base of automation pyramid. It is essential that these devices operate accurately and reliably for safe operation of the plant. Troubleshooting these devices can be an arduous task. To this end, finding relevant information in a timely fashion from service manuals can be difficult. Thus, there is a strong need to find alternate approaches to facilitate troubleshooting these devices. This paper presents an approach involving use of AR technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of troubleshooting measurement device.
