Abstract

Mexican workers migration to the United States has been, at least for the past twenty years, a central subject of sociologists, anthropologists, geogra- phers and economists research of Mexico and its neighbour to the North. On these matters, issues regarding transportation, risks of crossing the bor- der, illegal aliens exploitation and dis- crimination among many other factors have been priviledged for their study. With less periodicity there has been reflection on the way migrants live and incorporate in their imaginery such moving experiences. By studying these matters we hope to find some fundamental elements that explain the process of a deep socio-cultural trans- formation on both sides of the border. Starting from migrant testimonials from Tianguistenco, in the municipality of Huejotzingo, in the State of Puebla, the present work reflects about migrant’s perception regarding geographical mobility and its impact on their own lives.
