New Middle Danian species of anomuran and brachyuran crabs from Fakse, Denmark

Abstract

One new genus and four new species of crabs (Crustacea, Decapoda) from the Middle Danian Tylocidaris bruennichi Zone of Fakse, Denmark are described. These include the anomuran crab Faxegalatheaplatyspinosa gen. et sp. nov. and the brachyuran crabs Homolopsis spiniga sp. nov., Eohomola affinis sp. nov. and Xanthosia gracilis sp. nov. All known crabs from Fakse are listed and some are illustrated photographically for the first time.
