Abstract

The relevance of the contribution is determined by the growing trends in the development of flexible forms of interaction in the market, which can be implemented as part of ecosystems. The use of an ecosystem approach in economics is a natural response to changing needs of market participants and the development of information technology base. The purpose of the contribution is to study the trends in the development of retail trade as one of the basic segments of the digital economy, which is a driver of growth. When studying the development pathways of retail trade under deep penetration of information technologies in the activities of both individual enterprises and the economy as a whole, the system approach is mainly used. The contribution clarifies retail functions in the digital economy, describes the levels of penetration of information technology in the activities of trading companies. The materials of the contribution are of practical value for retail organizations that form a strategic vision for the development of the digital economy.
