Abstract

Multiple interfaces can make computer software accessible to all users, from beginners to sophisticated operators. These entry points should correspond to five distinct levels of ability. Through a graduated learning process, the user becomes familiar with his/her present entry level while preparing for the next. A practical example of this approach, which has a variety of applications, is presented. © 1982, ACM. All rights reserved.
