Abstract

This paper is based on the development of multilevel inverter for Photovoltaic (PV) system. It also depends on Improved Perturbation and Observation (IP&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm (MPPT). This algorithm is applied to a grid connected PV system through a seven level inverter with a novel pulse width modulated control scheme. The inverter used is seven level inverter and is capable of producing seven level output voltage from the DC supply voltage obtained from PV panels. Multilevel inverters offer improved sinusoidal output waveforms and lower THD. The results are verified through simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK tools.
