Abstract

This chapter applies the aesthetic as process theory to a more refined judgement. The evaluation of Cantor’s Diagonal Proof as elegant is analysed. This allows us to see how the notions of aesthetic experience and subjective articulation can account for the nuances involved in the application of the closely related notions of beauty and elegance.
