Pomegranate peel (PGP) waste contains high levels of phenol and anti-therapeutic compounds and has beneficial properties. This study collected information on the effects of PGP powder and extract on previously developed edible films with different matrixes. The incorporation of PGP extract and powder increases the physicochemical and functional properties of the coating material and the edible film. PGP has the potential effect of increasing storage safety, preserving natural pigments, reducing lipid oxidation in food products, enhancing cell adhesion and the durability of edible packaging.
