The paper presents a study on the formation of the self-esteem of personal, professionally important qualities of a future doctor among first-year students of the medical faculty of a medical university. The aim of the study was to identify the formation dynamics of objective self-esteem in the development of specialist professionally important personal qualities, within the framework of the developed and applied diagnostic program in the learning process of the discipline "Psychology and pedagogy." At the beginning of training activities in one of the first classes in the study of the discipline, the students were given the opportunity to evaluate themselves subjectively regarding the formation of professionally important qualities in accordance with the student's psychodiagnostic card. In the course of training activities in the classroom on "Psychology and pedagogy", students studied their personal qualities for one semester in accordance with the program of the discipline using the valid techniques described in the paper. At the final stage of mastering the discipline, a repeated self-assessment was conducted taking into account the results of the applied methods. Analysis of the results of the applied methods gave rise to a review of self-esteem and allowed to compare the primary (subjective) self-assessment of the personal qualities of students with the secondary (refined, objective) self-assessment. The result of the study was the analysis of the dynamics of self-esteem.
