This study aims to describe about the dehumanization present in Sundanese proverbs through Lakoff & Johnson's (1980) conceptual metaphor theory. The method in this study is a qualitative method with listening, reading, and note-taking techniques. This study used a conceptual metaphor theory that can be divided into three elements that formed the target source, target domain, and mapping. The data for this study are the collected of sundanese proverbs from the book 1000 Babasan Jeung Paribasa Sunda by Tamsyah, et al (1994). This study found that there are a source language domain that comes from the use of animal names, object names and plant names to represent gender and human attitudes, which raises the concept of degrading human dignity. Some of the metaphors that contain the issue of dehumanization are found in animal names, plant names and inanimate objects. The use of metaphors containing the issue of dehumanization actually describes the habits, gender, nature and behavior of local people as reflected in their culture and way of life.
