Abstract

Sustainability of arable agriculture is an important issue facing the world nowadays. The last green revolution was achieved with a mix of technologies such as chemistry, engineering and genetics. In the nearest future the need for another green revolution is could be arising but this time with less chemistry being involved as the agricultural sustainability has been degrading. The concern is massively increased for the last decades because everyone has been trying to increase agricultural production substantially but the environment has not been paid much attention. Analysis of different factors influencing the arable agriculture is key assumptions that help to understand future agricultural sustainability. Hence it is possible to identify the new targets and toward which investment must be prioritised. There are many factors that can be contributed to effect of arable agriculture but only some of them are considered in this essay which ranked as being more crucial than others. These are believed to be genetic improvement in plant breeding, adapting new policies and wise management of farming. Conclusion is that breeders and managers in agriculture must work more closely is the enormous challenge of global sustainable productivity is to be met.
