Abstract

In patients with Crohn’s disease, restorative proctocolectomy with ileo- anal anastomosis has been viewed as a relative contraindication. In selected patients, with appropriate counselling this approach may be considered. In some situations, Crohn’s disease may be diagnosed months to years after formation of the pouch. This chapter aims to explore management strategies in patients with Crohn’s dis- ease and an ileoanal pouch as well as those with Crohn’s disease considering an ileoanal pouch. Keywords
