Abstract

Providing new generation of airbags with reliable information about the vehicle inner space occupancy in order to minimise inappropria te inflation is a real challenge . Within this paper 3 techniques to rebuild the 3D cockpit scene , curren tly explored within Siemens Automotive are presented . Besides the well-known ste reoscopic vision principles , 3D reconstruction based on matricial sensor combined with an infrared struct ured light emitter and time of fligh t solutions are described. First promising results are depicted.
