Abstract

this paper estimates the employment effects of a 2007 WOTC expansion that made tax credits of up to $4,800 available to employers who hired disabled veterans who were recently discharged or unemployed for more than six months. . . . The tax credits generated a statistically significant 2 percentage point incrase in employment among targeted groups of disabled veterans. This impact translates to an additional 32,000 employed disabled veterans per year over 2007 adn 2008.
