Abstract

The implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) increases the quality of products and services, adds value to the processes, allows the optimization of productive variables and improves the business competitiveness in the market. Nevertheless, SMEs evidence complexity in the implementation of these systems and ISO 9001:2008 certification, with barriers and constrains in the statement of quality policies, strategic management, internal communication and management resources.
