Abstract

• Communication is an integral component of a good teamwork climate. • Doctors are more positive in their perceptions of safety and teamwork than nurses in their working units. • Hospital management should establish a no-blame culture so that staff could openly discuss patient safety issues when errors occur. • Strategies for promoting good teamwork should be made in order to maintain quality of care and enhance patient safety in intensive care units.
