Abstract

This chapter presents Cruiser, a geographically-oriented content management and delivery system, providing a platform for developing rich internet applications and services that make use of spatial data, maps and location-aware information. The chapter addresses the technological and business need behind it, and discusses Cruiser’s unique feature, namely the channel, that allows for tuning, navigation, browsing, searching, enriching and sharing of geographic space, at a personal level. Finally, the target application domain as well as, the benefits of adopting this platform are presented.
