Abstract

A phase in the development of the capitalist world economy has come to an 'end with the recession in 1975. We will produce evidence to support the thesis that the preconditions for the expansion and accumulation of capital have experienced fundamental qualitative transformations, with the result that a new international division of labour is replacing the &dquo;classical&dquo; international division of labour that has existed up till now. This process has far-reaching consequences for the living and working conditions of people all over the world. Some easily observed phenomena of the capitalist world economy in the middle of the 1970s are for example: Folker Frobel, Jiirgen Heinrichs, Otto Kreye, Die neue internationale Arbeitsteilung. Strukturelle Arbeitslosigkeit in den Industrielandern und die Industrialisierung der Entwicklungslander (The new international division of labour. Structural unemployment in industrialized countries and industrialization in developing countries).
