Abstract

This Chapter draws on the empirical findings of Chap. 4 on the border dispute between Slovenia and Croatia. The aim is (i) to identify critical junctures in the conflictual process, and (ii) to see whether the findings allow for some fine-tuning of the analytical framework that have informed the process-tracing of this study. In fact, the analytical toolbox and the research questions developed in Chap. 1 constitute a guide to the researcher and the reader alike in the exploration of the causal mechanisms throughout the management of the bilateral dispute. Looking ahead, the analytical toolbox should be practitioner-proof to allow for a proper analysis of similar bilateral disputes in the context of EU enlargement.
