Abstract

Seychelles is a very small archipelago located in the Western Indian Ocean. Consisting of over 115 islands of both continental and coralline origins, the Seychelles is renowned for its unique beauty as paradise on earth.2 The Seychelles were colonised in the early 18th century and today has an indigenous population ulation of about 81,995, estimated to grow to 101,987 by the year 2019.3 Although agriculture dominated as early as 17714, and until the late 1960’s, the inescapable temptation for Seychelles to become every tourist’s dream has led to rapid development of tourism infrastructure over the last thirty years along the coastline of many of the Seychelles islands.5
