Abstract

In the pharmaceutical sector, there are many challenges; However, the one that has the most significant impact is the low service level due to non-compliance with delivery times. Several factors allude to this fact, such as the case of suppliers, customers, the time of imports in some situations, the risks of the supply chain, and others. A problem that also stands out is the inadequate strategy in inventory management since the quantity and the delivery time is impacted by the chain variability, which causes an economic impact. The purpose of this paper is to present a review of the literature related to inventory management in the two-echelon supply chain and develop an inventory framework in the pharmaceutical supply chain industry.
