Steel fiber reinforced cement composite (SFRCC) is being increasingly used in constructions prone to dynamic loads. A successful application of SFRCC to such constructions requires recognition of its dynamic features. This paper describes a research study of dynamic properties of precast SFRCC beams such as dynamic modulus of elasticity, frequency of free damped vibrations and effective values of accelerations of vibration. Examined beams were made of fine aggregate cement composite reinforced by three different types of hooked steel fibers. The amount of fiber reinforcement varied from 0.0% to 2.8% by volume. Results indicate that particular dynamic features of SFRCC can be influenced by changing the amount of the addition of steel fibers and their aspect ratio. © Freund Publishing House Ltd.
