Abstract

After decades of submission and compliance, Tunisians and Egyptians succeeded in removing autocratic regimes that were once perceived as being unshakable. Their determination has inspired the region; revolts have been taken place in several Arab countries (Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Oman, and Syria, among others).
