This work aims to qualify the information regarding the points of contamination by PAHs present in the soil of Manguinhos/RJ and its consequences for human and environmental health, contributing to qualify the interventions of the public power. Located in the northern part of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro/RJ, Manguinhos is made up of 13 communities, totaling approximately 36 thousand inhabitants. This region receives pollutants from various sources, especially the Manguinhos Refinery and Avenida Brasil where thousands of vehicles/day circulate. The Sampling Plan corresponds to a regular grid on the map of the neighborhood with points equidistant from 150m. Determinations of PAH concentrations were performed by GC/MS. The results obtained show that five communities present results of the ∑ of 10 PAH higher than the Alert value (Dutch List) considering the maximum values allowed. Among all the evaluates places the Vila União presented results above the Alert Value considering the maximum allowed values and the median.
