Abstract

The interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) modified with hydrothermal growth of ZnOnanoflakes (Nfs) active layer fabricated for electrochemical sensor applications. The Aluminium (Al) metal-based IDEs structure assembled using AutoCAD design tool and thermal evaporation unit with the dimension of 0.5 mm wide, 15 mm long and 0.5 mm distance between the adjacent fingers. The IDEs surface was decorated with the active layer of ZnO seed particles and further enhance it into the ZnOnanoflakes (Nfs). A three-step spin coating of ZnO seed layer followed by a hydrothermal treatment lead to the uniform ZnONfs. The structural, crystalline and chemical composition of the IDEs structure and Nfs were investigated and examined by using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FeSEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD).
