Collis gastroplasty is a technique used to lengthen the esophagus when sufficient length cannot be mobilized for adequate hiatal hernia repair. It is thus most often performed as an adjunct to fundoplication. This chapter describes the technique, and includes information on preoperative preparation, pitfalls and danger points, operative strategy, and identification of complications. The chapter concludes with a list of selected references.
