Abstract

This paper describes the process to design a distribution network of a company of production and commercialization of fresh egg. The aim is showing methodological aspects, variables analyzed, mathematical model proposed and the results obtained for the design of the distribution network. The proposed network allows increasing the level of customer service and reducing the logistic cost. Methodology for development of work focused on three phases: First, the analysis of variables that influence the operation of the company’s distribution system. Second, a mixed integer linear programming (MIP) mathematical model was developed with the current distribution network and with the addition of new distribution centers. Finally, different scenarios were proposed to evaluate the variability and uncertainty of relevant variables of the system.
