Abstract

Given the growing importance of the debate about the future of religion, including its design, self-understanding and procedures, institutions are reacting. Religion-analytical academies, research and teaching clusters as well as think-tanks are multiplying rapidly both “from above” (the political institutions) and “from below” (civil society, religious organizations and practice, and everyday interest generally, including the mainstream media).
