Abstract

The first synthesis of a labdane diterpenoid, (-)-13-oxo-15,16-dinorlabda- 8(17),11E-dien-19-oic acid [(-)-1a], isolated from the stem bark of Thuja standishii (GORD.) CARR., from the major component trans-communic acid (3a) is described. © 2002 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
