Abstract

According to W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, there were 37 government department websites in Taiwan that were evaluated in this paper. Websites were investigated for the presence of various features dealing with information availability, service delivery, and public access. Features assessed include online publications, online database, audio clips, video clips, premium fees, user payments, disability access, security features, presence of online services, digital signatures, credit card payments, email address, and an English version of the website. The results of this survey provide suggestions for the development of e-government services in Taiwan. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
